The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has overturned the manslaughter conviction of the former Oklahoma police officer's based on a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that much of eastern Oklahoma remains an American Indian reservation. The court on Thursday, March 18, 2021, granted the appeal of Kepler. He's a former police officer and member of the Creek Nation who was sentenced to 15-years in prison for the 2014 killing of his daughter’s boyfriend in Tulsa on land within the historic reservation of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
