Police in Northern California say people looking for a Christmas tree found a partially clothed woman who had been kidnapped and abandoned in a rural area. The woman told police she was kidnapped Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, by Sanderson and Johanna Knighten, two acquaintances who believed she had stolen drugs from Sanderson. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
