In this Feb. 12, 2014 photo, St. Bernadette's Adam Hilby passes to a teammate during warmups before a basketball at Holy Family School in Rockford, Ill. The day before, Hilby, a 15-year-old with Down syndrome, entered a seventh-grade basketball game with just under two minutes remaining. The anticipation, as well as the noise level, grew as Hilby put up one shot, then another. Then, on his third attempt, he scored as the buzzer shot fell. Hilby proceeded to skip down the court with his fist pumping. St. Bernadette Coach Jimmy Krein has coached Hilby for the past three years and often gets him into games that have been decided.
