A 911 call showed that a quick emergency response helped save the life of Madison Kirchner, who was shot while her brother was cleaning a gun. A bill moving swiftly through the Iowa Legislature, in response to the public release of 911 calls in Tama County gun accidents, would make many 911 calls confidential.
