Just over a year ago she lost control of her car as she was driving to FSU to visit her sister. She crashed into a tree and died. While her father struggles with her lost, he's delighted his daughter donated her organs. He's also befriending a 17-year-old Lakeland boy who got her heart. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
