Smith was convicted Tuesday, April 29, 2014, of premeditated murder. A day after Byron Smith was found guilty of premeditated murder, jurors said the audio of the Thanksgiving Day 2012 killings of two unarmed teens _ a recording that the 65-year-old switched on before the break-in occurred _ was key in his conviction.
