The King Charles Troupe is a group of basketball-playing unicyclers performing choreographes routines of comedy and athletics. The troupe is a top act in the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey's Circus, which opened on Wednesday at the Patriot Center in Fairfax and will hold shows now through April 20. "We perfect a skill and make it our own," says "Kip" Jones, the troupe's leader. "No one else can duplicate it in the way we've done it."

A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
