While my new gun was being transferred to the District from Virginia, I returned to D.C.’s Gun Registry Office to turn in my registration application. As you will see in what follows, this should have been simple step, but it took all day. Like everything else in my effort to get a legal handgun in this city has been far more complicated and time-consuming that it needed to be.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has opened up a nine-point lead over former House speaker Newt Gingrich among likely voters in Florida's Republican presidential primary, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Friday.

One such criticism Gingrich had toward Mr. Reagan was the president's handling of the Iran-Contra arms for hostage affair.

GABL: National school choice week comes at bleak time for NYC charter school

Educators and legislators across the country celebrated National School Choice Week from January 22-28 in all 50 states with over 400 events including lectures, documentary showings, and even group twitter happy hours. Over 200 organizations partnered with National School Choice Week, which on its website champions “effective education options for every student” as its mission. The cause garners support from charter schools, private schools, and homeschooling groups, among others who value educational options.

MILLER: I will testify before D.C. city council about guns

Through the course of writing this series on getting a firearm legally, I’ve become all too familiar with the ins and outs of the registration process in Washington, D.C. Now I will have the opportunity to share my experiences, complaints and suggestions with the local lawmakers who have the power to change these regulations. I will be testifying before the D.C. city council’s Judiciary Committee on Monday, Jan. 30.
