‘Mountain Man’ pleads guilty to federal charges

Prosecutors in central Utah's Sevier County filed four charges of aggravated burglary and theft on Monday, March 31, 2014, against the 46-year-old Knapp, known as the &quot;Mountain Man.&quot; He is now facing more than 40 charges in seven counties after officials say he lived in and ransacked remote cabins across Utah for years. He is accused shooting at a Utah Highway Patrol helicopter and aiming an assault rifle at other officers before surrendering in April 2013. Knapp is scheduled to take plea deal in federal court next week on federal firearm charges. The terms of the agreement are not disclosed, and federal prosecutors say no plea deal is finalized.
