ADVANCE FOR USE SUNDAY, OCT. 29 On Oct. 10, 2017, veteran Tommy Swearingen donated dog tags to the LBJ Presidential Library. The dog tags did not belong to him. He discovered them in his belongings nearly 50 years after he was seriously wounded in the Vietnam War. The tags were stamped in capital letters with a name Swearingen did not recognize, D.A. JONES. Unable to find the original owner, the tags finally found a home about 19 months after his initial discovery. (Reshma Kirpalani/Austin American-Statesman via AP)
