Congress opens the books, puts internal research online

One of the historic photos included in the Library of Congress exhibit, "Baseball American." This shot, by Harrison & Ewing. Prints and Photographs Division, shows the American League All-Star team at the District's Griffith Stadium on July 7, 1937. Lou Gehrig, Joe Cronin, Bill Dickey, Joe DiMaggio, Charlie Gehringer, Jimmie Foxx, and Hank Greenberg gather on the field for the fifth annual All-Star Game. Gehrig hit a two-run homer off National League ace Dizzy Dean as the American League went on to win, 8-3.
