In this Feb. 13, 2014 photo, Dr. Raymond Bertino, a radiologist with Central Illinois Radiological Associates, is seen in a portrait in Peoria, Ill. Bertino has volunteered to help airline passengers in medical emergencies three times in his career. He also experienced his own in-flight medical emergency in 2007. None of the incidents was serious, but as a result of his first-hand experiences they turned Bertino into a serious student of the lows of dealing with medical emergencies high in the air.
