The R Street Institute (R Street) is a non-profit American think tank founded on June 1, 2012 in Washington, D.C. by former employees of the Heartland Institute’s Center on Finance, Insurance and Real Estate. In addition to its Washington headquarters, R Street has branch offices in Tallahassee, Florida; Austin, Texas; and Columbus, Ohio.
