Mateusz Siojanowicz, 34, (right) and Wojciech Solinski, 35, are trained nurses at a field hospital for Ukrainians that the Polish Center for International Aid runs inside an airplane hangar at the Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport. The center has managed more than 1,150 patient evacuations from the war zone over the past year, handling everything from front-line casualties and combat wounded amputees to civilians injured by missile strikes and even child cancer patients struggling to receive treatment in Ukrainian hospitals.
