Mississippi State University is a land-grant university located in north east-central Mississippi, United States, adjacent to the town of Starkville and is situated 125 miles (200 km) northeast of Jackson and 23 miles (37 km) west of Columbus. With an enrollment of 18,601, it is the largest university in the State of Mississippi. Mississippi State, Mississippi, is the official designation for the area that encompasses the university.
