A detective who was investigating Jesse Vierstra on charges he raped a University of Idaho freshman found two girls from Vierstra’s home town of Twin Falls who alleged Vierstra assaulted them during his high school years, though they did not tell authorities at the time. One said he pulled into the Shilo Inn parking lot and, despite her resistance, penetrated her. In the fall of 2016, more than three years into a 5-to-15-year sentence for the university rape, Vierstra was released in a plea deal when a new attorney argued that his first lawyer did not defend him competently.
