The U.S. and Israel launched a massive joint military attack early Saturday against Iran, as President Trump urged the Iranian people to “take over your government” and called on members of the Islamic republic’s military to immediately surrender or be killed.

European leaders call for resumption of U.S.-Iran negotiations

Britain, France and Germany called for a resumption of U.S.-Iran negotiations and condemned Iranian attacks on countries in the region. They did not comment on Saturday’s U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a recorded message released Saturday morning that the attacks will let Iranians “take their fate into their own hands” and that Israel plans the current operation to be “much more powerful” than the bruising 12-day war Israel launched against Iran in June.
