Guard assumes responsibility for incident involving Jude Law’s daughter and Chappell Roan in Brazil

A security guard has taken full responsibility for a confrontation involving actor Jude Law’s 11-year-old daughter, Ada, and her mother in a Sao Paulo hotel during the Lollapalooza Brazil music festival featuring pop star Chappell Roan, multiple news outlets report.

Pascal Duvier identified himself on Instagram as the guard who stopped and reprimanded the girl as she approached a breakfast table where Ms. Roan and others were sitting on March 21. Mr. Duvier said he was not a part of the singer’s security team and was working for another client.

He said he made a “judgment call” based on information from the hotel and events he had witnessed, and acknowledged the outcome of the encounter was regrettable.

Ada’s mother, Catherine Harding, and her husband, Brazilian soccer star Jorginho Frello, had accused Ms. Roan of directing her security personnel to accost the girl. Ms. Roan said the guard was not part of her team and she was unaware of the altercation.
