So The Washington Times’ editorial board is clutching its pearls regarding President Trump’s refusal to hide his lack of grief over the passing of Robert Mueller (“Trump’s unpresidential lack of impulse control,” Web, March 23).

As the editorial says, one can hardly blame Mr. Trump for not shedding any tears at Mr. Mueller’s passing.

The piece also references Mr. Trump’s reaction to the killing of Hollywood director Rob Reiner. Although Reiner’s rants against Mr. Trump were despicable, they had no direct impact on our commander in chief. This was certainly not true of Mr. Mueller’s comments and actions.

Even Reiner’s remarks about Mr. Trump could have served as inspiration for the various attempts on his life.

To color Mr. Trump’s comments as “unpresidential” won’t win you any points. The president’s raw honesty is one of the things we like about him. Even if your editorial board disagrees, it was hardly worth 10 paragraphs of your editorial ink.

I would expect such an opinion in The Washington Post, but not in The Washington Times.
