America’s first president, George Washington, sent out clear warnings about the various ways in which the blossoming republic would be attacked. And sadly, Americans didn’t heed the warnings.

“We have some dilapidation of our republic that needs to be rehabilitated,” said Mike Bedenbaugh, author of the new “Reviving Our Republic.”



The perils this nation face are varied, ranging from its fiscal situation to foreign policy, he said.

“My inspiration came from [40 points from] Washington’s Farewell Address,” Bedenbaugh said. “It was astonishing to me how much education he tried to give the country … [but] we as a society have forgotten how to maintain a free country.”
