A quadruple amputee and professional cornhole player is accused of fatally shooting a man in a Maryland suburb, then dumping the body and fleeing to Virginia before he was captured.

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office said Dayton James Webber is in custody on murder charges after he shot a passenger in his car after a heated argument.

Authorities said Mr. Webber, 27, is behind bars in Charlottesville, Virginia, after he drove to the commonwealth to evade the law in Maryland.

Charging documents said Mr. Webber and his front-seat passenger, Bradrick Wells, started arguing after Mr. Webber picked up two other friends at about 10:25 p.m. Sunday in La Plata.

Mr. Webber pulled out a gun and fired two bullets into Mr. Wells’ head during the confrontation, police said.

The suspect pulled over and asked the two other passengers if they would help him remove the body, police said. The two people refused, got out of the car and ran away.

A court filing said the two passengers flagged down a police officer and reported the crime.

Police said Mr. Wells’ body was found by a residence in Charlotte Hall at about 12:40 a.m. Monday.

Authorities found Mr. Webber in Charlottesville after he had checked into a hospital for treatment.

“It’s early in the investigation, but there’s no evidence to suggest anyone else was involved in the shooting and that he acted alone,” said Diane Richardson, of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Mr. Webber’s legs were amputated below the knee and his arms below the elbow when he was a baby due to a near-fatal blood infection.

Videos on his social media accounts show him firing pistols and rifles.

He remains in custody in Virginia while he awaits extradition to Maryland.
