Musical performer Kid Rock is facing online backlash after photos surfaced of his 2023 White House-inspired mansion in Nashville, featuring a white columned facade and an American flag flying from the roof.

A Reddit user recently posted the photo. Criticism focused on the environmental costs of constructing such a large home, which entails clearing trees and disturbing nearby wildlife.

Commenters noted that oversized homes like his require substantially more energy to heat and cool than typical residences, reported TheCoolDown.com, an environment-focused website.

A Reddit user commented on Kid Rock’s upbringing, mentioning the estate he grew up in in Michigan spanning more than 5,600 square feet, with a guest house, horse barn, tennis court and pool.

One Reddit user called it “the saddest thing I’ve ever seen” and questioned whether it even resembles the White House
