A federal judge has sentenced a man to more than 10 years in prison for coordinating seven armed robberies of a single Walgreens location in Chinatown.
Gianni Robinson, 28, was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years and six months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said.
He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery and possessing a firearm related to a violent crime on Feb. 28, 2025.
Robinson conspired with his uncle and Walgreens store manager Michael Robinson, 35, along with fellow store manager London Teeter, 21, and gunman Kamanye Williams, 26, to commit seven robberies of a Walgreens on Seventh Street NW in Chinatown between July 2023 and February 2024, federal prosecutors said.
The younger Robinson served as the middleman between Williams and the two managers, provided Williams with codes to get into the manager’s office at the Walgreens, arranged for getaway transportation and helped get the proceeds, about $28,983 in total, split between all four conspirators.
In addition to prison time, each conspirator sentenced so far has been required to pay back one-fourth of the money stolen, $7,245, as restitution.
The younger Robinson is the third conspirator to be sentenced; the elder Robinson was sentenced to 12 years and three months in July 2025. Williams was sentenced to 16 years and six months in August 2025. Teeter will be sentenced on April 23, federal prosecutors said.
“After police posted surveillance footage of his co-conspirator robbing the Walgreens, Gianni Robinson sent the YouTube link to the gunman with a laughing emoji. He thought the crimes he conspired on were funny … Robinson isn’t laughing anymore,” said U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro.
