Jane Fonda wants to know why she wasn’t asked to deliver a tribute to the late Robert Redford at Sunday’s Oscars ceremony instead of Barbra Streisand.

Ms. Fonda spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, pointing out that she co-starred with Redford in four films while Ms. Streisand shared the screen with him in only one movie.

Ms. Fonda worked with Redford on “The Chase” (1966), “Barefoot in the Park” (1967), “The Electric Horseman” (1979) and “Our Souls at Night” (2017). Ms. Streisand appeared with him in 1973’s “The Way We Were.”

Ms. Streisand sang a bit of the movie’s Oscar-winning theme song during her “In Memoriam” tribute to Redford, who died in September at age 89. She praised him as a brilliant actor/director who used his platform to defend press freedom, protect the environment and champion new filmmakers via his Sundance Institute.

Ms. Fonda spoke warmly about Redford, saying she was always in love with him and praising him as a gorgeous person with great values who did a lot to support independent films.
