A new video from the perspective of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer involved in the shooting of Renee Good shows him being taunted by another protester just before the deadly interaction in Minneapolis.
“You want to come at us? You want to come at us? I say go get yourself some lunch, big boy,” a woman tells the officer, who is holding out a cellphone camera as he walks around Ms. Good’s maroon Honda Pilot SUV, recording her license plate.
The officer makes his way back to the front of the vehicle just as other officers — who had gotten out of a pickup truck with emergency lights flashing — approach the driver’s side and loudly demand Ms. Good get out. There is no indication that there were conflicting orders to leave the area — a claim some news media had reported.
The situation then goes haywire as Ms. Good reverses briefly and begins to pull forward. The cell camera picture then goes awry and a crunching sound can be heard — consistent with the Department of Homeland Security’s claim that the officer was struck by the vehicle.
The video was posted to X by Alpha News.
The shooting has deeply divided Americans, with those who support President Trump’s immigration policy generally seeing it as justified, and those who oppose the president calling it unjustified or even “murder.”

The new video is unlikely to settle the matter, though it does add more context, showing the ICE officer was interested in Ms. Good’s presence at the scene.
The officer’s reflection can be seen in the side of Ms. Good’s SUV, and he has his phone in his left hand but does not appear to have a hand on his gun.
The woman taunting the officer is holding her own cellphone up, apparently to record her interaction with the officer. She then reaches to open the passenger side door of the SUV as Ms. Good reverses, then lurches forward. The door appears to have been locked so the woman is unable to open it.
