A man in a truck decorated in “Jan. 6” signs near the White House was arrested Monday for purportedly having unregistered ammunition.
The Secret Service said in a statement that it noticed the truck was parked near the 1600 block of Constitution Avenue NW without any valid license plates on it, according to Washington’s WJLA-TV.
Secret Service personnel then talked to the driver, who said he had ammunition in the truck that also featured makeshift South Korean flags.
Hence, the man was arrested, accused of having the unregistered ammo and taken to the Metropolitan Police Department for processing, the agency said, according to the TV station.
Neither the Secret Service nor the D.C. cops have named the man. Officials have also not said whether the signs on the man’s truck were supporting or condemning the Capitol riots of Jan. 6, 2021.
