OPINION:
So the Democrats are now demanding affordability and believe it’s a winning issue for them in the midterms. Ironically, in the four years preceding President Trump’s return to office, they just about destroyed our nation, starting with trying to regulate the petroleum industry out of existence. That drove the price of gasoline, food and everything else through the roof.
Democrats’ policies created 20% inflation over four years and enticed millions of illegals to come to our country, causing affordable housing to evaporate and costs to soar.
Democrats also passed the trillion-dollar American Recovery Act, which was like pouring gas onto the inflationary fire and created another gigantic slush fund to support their mismanagement and corruption. Look no further than California, where billions of dollars have been squandered on a high-speed rail project without an inch of track having been built, and in Minnesota, where they have spent billions of dollars on children’s learning centers with no students.
Now, they want to blame the Republicans for the still-high prices and claim they are the champions of affordability. That’s like the local arsonist becoming the fire chief in your city.
