A parachute team suffered a snafu at the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas, when one of its members got tangled behind the goal posts while landing.
The All Veteran Group dropped into Amon G. Carter Stadium on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth for the Armed Forces Bowl Friday.
Six members dropped, but one had to veer away from the stadium, and another got tangled in the wires for the netting behind the goal post, according to The Athletic. The other four landed as expected.
“Today the winds were a little tricky and one of the jumpers kinda got behind the power curve. He did the best he could do, he did not land in the crowd, he did land behind the goal post but without a scratch he walked away,” All Veteran Group President Mike Elliott said on social media, adding that no one in the group was injured during their landing.
Armed Forces Bowl media director Drew Harris told the Houston Chronicle that there were also no injuries in the crowd or on the ground.
The All Veteran Group has previously performed the Lockheed Martin-sponsored Armed Forces Bowl in the past and also performs in the pregame for every Carolina Panthers home game.
The game kicked off without delay, with Texas State beating Rice 41-10.
