A recent survey shows that millennial and Generation Z men are admitting to picking up new hobbies just to appear more attractive to potential partners.

USA Today reports that the performative dating trend is becoming increasingly popular, with 22% of young men admitting to engaging in it compared with half that rate for women.

The survey shows young men are trying hobbies such as video or fitness games even though people report not finding those interests necessarily appealing in partners.

The trend has been mocked on social media for the performative traits these men put on that turn out to be ingenuous.
