He’s been around for 65 years. He’s been featured in a Hollywood blockbuster. And now he’s got a last name.
Toymaker Mattel Inc. has announced that Barbie’s longtime boyfriend has a full name, and it’s not Ken Ryan Gosling. It’s Kenneth Sean Carson, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Mr. Gosling’s performance as the plastic blonde beachcomber in 2023’s “Barbie” — and his Oscar-nominated song “I’m Just Ken” — boosted interest in the doll and prompted Mattel to up his profile.
The toy company notes Ken’s “birthday” as March 11, 1961, and provides other details about his place in the Barbie franchise and his evolution in pop culture over the past six decades.
