Rap superstar Nicki Minaj declared herself President Trump’s “number one fan” and said the “hate” she receives for her support of the commander in chief only motivates her to support him more.

Ms. Minaj made the remarks when she was brought onstage with Mr. Trump as a surprise guest at Wednesday’s event in Washington to promote Trump accounts.

The tax-deferred retirement accounts for children are an administration program to provide $1,000 in cash to every child born between 2025 and 2028.

“I am the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change. And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more, and it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more,” Ms. Minaj said at the event, where she was spotted at one point holding hands with Mr. Trump.

“We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him and, you know, the smear campaigns. It’s not going to work. He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him,” she continued.

The “Super Bass” singer is expected to contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars to her fans’ newborns as part of the Trump accounts.

Ms. Minaj has not been shy about her Trump support, despite saying in 2020 that she would not “jump on the Trump bandwagon.”

In recent months, she’s become increasingly vocal about backing the president.

She also made a surprise appearance last month at the annual conference for Turning Point USA, the conservative advocacy group founded by slain activist Charlie Kirk.

Mr. Trump returned Ms. Minaj’s compliments on Wednesday, calling her the “greatest and most successful female rapper in history.” He also thanked her for donating money to the Trump accounts.

“I just think she’s great,” Mr. Trump said.

“I didn’t know Nicki and I’ve been hearing over the years she’s a big Trump supporter, or Trump fan. And she took a little heat on occasion because her community isn’t necessarily a Trump fan,” he added.

He also referenced her long painted nails, joking that he was going to let his own nails grow.
