As much as I would like to hope that Greenland and its protector Denmark could successfully oppose a determined Russian attempt to take over this little strategic piece of real estate, it’s not likely. They just don’t have the military capability.

If we want a Golden Dome of missile protection, then we must have total operational control of Greenland. Our military advisers agree.

Providing military assistance to our Western European NATO allies to defend themselves against Russian imperialism and aggression is one thing, but depending on our allies to defend strategic territory right next door to us is another. If President Kennedy had allowed the Soviets to install nuclear missile sites on Cuba, we would surely have been at war.

Taking control of Greenland now will preempt a conflict with this monster adversary and secure the plan for a missile shield. Obviously, this will cause and has caused hard feelings among our allies. This is unfortunately an unintended consequence that can’t be prevented if we really want to protect ourselves and our allies.
