Sen. John Fetterman on Tuesday joined growing calls for President Trump to oust Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

“@POTUS @realDonaldTrump: I make a direct appeal to immediately fire @Sec_Noem,” Mr. Fetterman posted on X. “Americans have died.”

“She is betraying DHS’s core mission and trashing your border security legacy,” the Pennsylvania Democrat posted. “DO NOT make the mistake President Biden made for not firing a grossly incompetent DHS Secretary.”

The request from Mr. Fetterman comes days after ICU nurse Alex Pretti, 37, was fatally shot by ICE agents during an on-camera scuffle.

Mr. Fetterman has called for an immediate end to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Minnesota, but he has not expressed support for fellow Senate Democrats’ bid to strip the Department of Homeland Security out of legislation to fund government agencies.
