OPINION:
Joseph Curl’s recent column, “Democrats immediately invent new ways to tax Virginians” (Web, Jan. 21), once again affirmed for me how clever the Democrats are. To them, the great Trump tax breaks are nothing more than a piggy bank for taxation.
When Gov. Abigail Spanberger and the Democratic legislature have finished enacting new ways to tax, Virginians will not only not see any benefits from the Trump tax cuts but will also find they are financially further behind than they were before. This will result in Democrats saying that President Trump’s tax breaks actually cost them money, causing Virginians to vote for Democrats in the midterms with the purpose of empowering Democrats to fix it.
Democrats’ taxation policies are cunning and creatively duplicitous with a big measure of trickery added for effect. Vote Republican in the midterms if you want any chance of preventing or at least blunting this outcome.
