California Gov. Gavin Newsom had some “tough words” for world leaders this week in Davos, Switzerland, regarding President Trump’s “plans” for Greenland (“In their words: Trump’s threats over Greenland draw warnings and profanities at global forum,” Web, Jan. 20).

Judging from his rhetoric, I’d say those leaders to whom he spoke were thinking one of two thoughts: “Wow, I wish he were president” or “Wow, this guy is nuts.”

Mr. Newsom might want to be careful with his big-boy bully talk. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was sounding just like him not too long before he was ambushed and trucked away in handcuffs.

I think a straitjacket and muzzle would go very nicely with Mr. Newsom’s fancy cuff links.
