Yellow-wearing man accused of stealing $1,400 in weed from D.C. dispensary

A man wearing bright yellow clothes is suspected of robbing an Adams Morgan medical marijuana dispensary of $1,400 worth of weed.

Surveillance footage from the Blunt Sluts Cannabis Club in the 2400 block of 18th Street NW showed the suspect waiting in line, getting to the counter, putting on a mask, brandishing a gun and making off with two large jars of marijuana around 6 p.m. Sunday, according to WTTG-TV. 

A Metropolitan Police Department alert described the suspected robber as a Black man with a handgun and wearing a neon yellow hoodie, a yellow jacket, black pants and gray sneakers with white laces. 

The police alert also noted a distinct skull tattoo on his right hand and that he was last seen walking southbound on 18th Street NW.

The dispensary’s co-owner, Shelby Fountain, told the TV station: “No one was expecting it, so it was upsetting, but hopefully, we can continue to do what we do here. … It’s definitely scary when anybody is in that situation; you’re just trying to come to work and make a living, and that’s all.”

The robber took only the drugs, leaving a container of cash tips alone. The Metropolitan Police Department told WTTG that no arrests had been made in the case as of Monday.
