OPINION:
The mere fact that religion makes humanity less egocentric is a great thing. It creates more focus and concern for others and their struggles.
Atheism has had disastrous effects on humanity and civilization. You can declare yourself an atheist and feel you have protected yourself from the inevitable, but that does not keep you from judgment because all people born will be judged.
There is truly a psychological imperfection in many of today’s leftists: narcissism. They do not understand the depth of their egocentrism and therefore, more than anyone else, need an offset, a belief in a power higher than themselves. That is the case with humanism.
As English writer G.K. Chesterton said, “If there were no God, there would be no atheists.” From French philosopher Voltaire: “If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.”
Because of egocentrism, the political left has a conflicted relationship with religion and the true acceptance of Christ.
If you are a clergy member but disagree with the views of the late Charlie Kirk, or go so far as to rebuke Kirk and his organization and refer to him as a racist, bigot and/or evil, you have a very conflicted and hypocritical relationship with your own salvation.
With its narcissism, the far left cannot walk with Jesus and share his love. When you accept Christ and Christianity, your first acknowledgment is that there is something bigger than you.
