OPINION:
The Venezuelan diaspora celebrated upon learning that, in the early morning hours of Jan. 3, the U.S. military had captured Venezuela’s narco-terrorist dictator, Nicolas Maduro, and the man’s wife in their home and flown them to New York to face justice.
Two days later, in Caracas, Vice President Delcy Rodriguez was sworn in as interim president, ignoring the democratically elected Nobel Peace Prize winner, Maria Corina Machado.
Ms. Rodriguez condemned the Maduro capture and U.S. incursion, as one would expect. Then she blamed it on the Jews. This is classic psychopathology.
Everything bad that happens in the world is caused by the Jews. The tragedy that befell the Maduro regime was not the result of a conflict between Venezuela and America. It was not the fault of a corrupt, Roman Catholic government that was exporting illicit drugs. It was all instigated by the Jews. How convenient! Problem solved. Venezuelans are good; Jews are bad.
In the 1930s, the Nazis were in power and the Jews suffered. No one intervened. Who will protect Venezuela’s Jews?
