Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merrit was named the NFL’s Rookie of the Week for the fourth time on Thursday following his 105-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Day.

Croskey-Merritt, who was drafted by the Commanders in the seventh round, has now won the award four times this season. He is the only player to receive the honor more than once in the ongoing campaign.

A Commander has won the award 17 times in the last two seasons. Quarterback Jayden Daniels set an NFL record last season with 11 Rookie of the Week honors. Wide receiver Jaylin Lane received the award earlier this season, while cornerback Mike Sainristil took home the trophy — a championship belt — following last season’s finale.

Croskey-Merritt leads the Commanders with 776 rushing yards and eight touchdowns this season. He is still considered a long shot to win the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award. His odds trail Carolina Panthers receiver Tetairoa McMillan, New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough and New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, according to most oddsmakers.
