OPINION:
Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s swearing-in ceremony had scarcely ended before Democrats in the General Assembly met to punish Virginians with more than 50 tax increase proposals.
They also want to illegally gerrymander Virginia to eliminate Republican districts. Only liberal Democrats would think the best way to stifle an “affordability crisis” is to increase taxes. Despite a $2.7 billion surplus left by Gov. Glenn Youngkin, Democrats will spend it and then raise taxes on Virginians.
If Ms. Spanberger were serious about ending such a crisis, she wouldn’t have voted for President Biden’s American Rescue Plan of 2021 ($1.9 trillion), the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021 ($1.2 trillion and not bipartisan) and the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 ($400 billion), all of which combined to increase inflation by 17% to 20%.
Democrats also returned Virginia to a sanctuary state with no oversight. They introduced a bill to repeal Virginia’s “right-to-work” law, in place for more than 75 years. They introduced bills violating Second Amendment rights and a bill guaranteeing free education to illegal aliens.
They also want to cut criminal penalties for robbery and ban the arrest of illegal criminal aliens at courthouses. They refuse voter ID because they want to continue Democratic cheating in elections.
Remember, violent protests against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other law enforcement by radical Democrats is allowable and righteous only when we have a Republican president.
I will continue to use my anti-Democrat, gas-powered leaf blower to infinity and beyond.
