Many times daily, I see repeated as an unassailable fact that a majority of Americans don’t support U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and want its operations curtailed, but as too often happens when you rely on the legacy media for your “facts,” you should assume the direct opposite is the truth.

A recent survey by the political polling firm Cygnal found that Americans support removing illegal immigrants and sending them back to their countries of origin by a nearly 2-1 margin (61% to 34%). The poll also found strong support for ICE enforcement of federal immigration laws and agreement that illegally entering our country in itself is a violation of such laws.

The mainstream media also continue their claim that ICE is denying deportees their constitutional right to due process. This disregards the fact that illegal immigrants for whom ICE has deportation orders have already had due process and have no further claim. In fact, the Supreme Court has confirmed many times that the due process rights of American citizens are not shared by those who are here illegally. Due process rights for those here illegally are strictly limited.

A further lie promoted by the legacy media is that ICE operations somehow violate states’ rights. In truth, the Constitution stipulates that control over immigration falls exclusively to the federal government. The Supreme Court has also confirmed that federal law supersedes state law on all issues surrounding immigration.

Immigration must be carefully monitored and controlled for many reasons, not the least of which is national security. Although most Americans recognize the benefits of legal immigration, the legacy media continue to blur the line between legal and illegal immigration.

Most American citizens recognize the difference and fully reject the flood of illegal immigration fostered by the Biden administration.
