Mr. Clean, the strapping bald man in a tight white T-shirt, is retiring after 68 years of helping consumers clean various household surfaces.
The popular household cleaning product, made by Procter & Gamble, is retiring its eponymous mascot.
The announcement on the brand’s Instagram account states that Mr. Clean, whose first name is Veritably, is “off to new adventures.”
The company emphasized that Mr. Clean products, including the Magic Eraser, will continue to be sold after the mascot’s retirement.
Mr. Clean was introduced to the public in 1958 and has remained a household name ever since.
