OPINION:
I just watched the 64-second video clip of Bruce Springsteen announcing his upcoming “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour this spring.
For someone who is saying we are “living through dark, disturbing and dangerous times,” Mr. Springsteen exudes a total lack of seriousness about his message through his nonchalant body language and fake laugh. It’s almost as if he doesn’t believe what he is saying and is trying to con people.
My question to him: Were we living through dark and dangerous times when the previous president opened the border (during a pandemic, no less) and then serial lied about it? Oddly, there was not a word of protest from Bruce while America was being invaded and had a demented commander in chief being manipulated by his communist underlings.
Now, as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is cleaning up the biblical mess foisted on us by the Biden administration, Mr. Springsteen proclaims, “Do not despair; calvary is coming!” To any sane American, thanks to President Trump, the calvary is already here.
I have a piece of advice for Mr. Springsteen, who has a long record of criticizing Republican presidents while giving his unfettered support to his can-do-no-wrong Democrats: Try to keep your Trump derangement syndrome in check by closing your mouth when the president pulls the trigger and liberates Iran from 47 years of torturous oppression.
Siding with the Iranian mullahs, no matter how cool you think it is now, won’t age well on what’s left of your once-sterling legacy.
What happened to Bruce? Back in the 1980s, when Mike Tyson earned the moniker “Baddest Man on the Planet,” Mr. Springsteen arguably held the title of “Coolest Guy in the World.” These days, he is nothing more than a political hack.
In a sane world, after seeing the herculean task President Trump had to overcome to regain the presidency, Bruce would be calling his upcoming tour the “No Surrender” tour in his honor.
