I found the tenor of “Nasty neighbors: Trump’s Cabinet goes ‘gutter’ in clashes with Congress” (Web, Feb. 16) a bit litigious.

There was a time when “lawmakers” had the best interest of the country at heart. They asked intelligent questions designed to help them actually govern. That’s no longer the case. Most members of Congress and the Senate are small-minded individuals who are more interested in money and power than serving the people they were elected to represent. That’s been particularly true of the Democrats.

For many years, the leaders of the Democratic Party have proved that they have no interest in the welfare of their constituents or the country in general. At the same time, the Republicans have allowed the Democrats to intimidate and lord over them.

Now, Republicans have finally developed the intestinal fortitude to go after the Democrats.

Congress is composed entirely of poster children for term limits. We have for too long allowed octogenarian and juvenile politicians to make a mockery of our representational government.
