A man accused of murder in Columbia Heights earlier this month was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Connecticut.

After a 911 call hangup, first responders found Nyesha Walden-Hatcher, 27, dead from a gunshot wound at a residence in the 3100 block of 16th Street NW at 3:17 a.m. Feb. 2.

Tyjuan Bazemore, 35, is accused of the killing, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

U.S. marshals said that they found Mr. Bazemore in Middletown, Connecticut, about 330 miles northeast of the District, on Tuesday.

The feds said they arrested him with the aid of the Middletown Police Department, pursuant to a warrant put out against him by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia on Feb. 5.

D.C. police said that Mr. Bazemore, in custody in Connecticut, will be extradited to the city. Once he returns, he will formally be charged with second-degree murder while armed.
