An adviser to the Biden White House tells Seen, Heard & Whispered that first lady Melania Trump has done more in her first year than Jill Biden did in four full years.
The aide, speaking about the release of “Melania,” the new documentary about the first lady, said Mrs. Biden never worked Capitol Hill as astutely as Ms. Trump has done, winning passage in May of the Take It Down Act, which criminalizes intimate and deep fake images shared online without consent.
The Take It Down Act and Ms. Trump’s work protecting youth on social media, promoting opportunities with foster children, and reuniting Ukrainian children with their families during the ongoing war were covered in the new documentary.
Marc Beckman, senior adviser to Mrs. Trump, said the documentary would be a great movie for young women.
“I want them to walk away with an idea of how hard our first lady works,” he told The Washington Times last week. “She has shifted her focus. It’s mission-oriented.”
During a premiere at the Trump-Kennedy Center last week Ms. Trump called the release of the movie a “historic moment.”
“Stories embolden individuals, inspire legendary achievements and build empires,” she said. “My film is a very deliberate act of authorship.”
Mrs. Trump’s movie focuses much on her fashion and decor style, highlighting her modeling career as she selected her wardrobe for the second Inauguration of her husband.
The movie also reveals sweet moments between the president and his wife, who is seen serving as an adviser and counselor to the president. At one point in the film, Mrs. Trump praises the family’s donors, showing video of people like Elon Musk partying with the president upon his 2024 victory and Inaugural celebration.
“The reason our victory was possible,” she said, referencing the deep-pocket backers.
Ironically, Mr. Trump won notoriety in 2016 for funding his own presidential campaign, where he defeated Hillary Clinton. Not taking money from donors was part of his sales pitch to working-class voters, which led to his first historic victory.
The documentary earned $8 million during its opening weekend.
