A United Airlines flight headed for Georgia had to turn around and return to Washington Dulles International Airport due to an engine issue Tuesday morning.
United flight 6321 took off from Dulles for Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport at about 8:56 a.m., according to flight tracking website FlightAware. By 9:38 a.m, it had returned.
The Federal Aviation Administration said that the crew aboard the Embraer 175 jet noticed that a light turned on indicating a fire in the plane’s left engine, according to WJLA-TV.
No injuries were reported on the flight, which got as high as 23,000 feet before turning around and doubling back to Dulles, according to FlightAware.
The plane was met by fire trucks on the runway when it landed back at Dulles, according to aviation news site Airlive. A replacement flight from Dulles to Savannah took off later Tuesday afternoon and landed without incident, according to FlightAware.
The specific plane that had the engine issue is scheduled to fly from Dulles to Kansas City International Airport at around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to flight tracking website Flightradar24.
