Rep. Ro Khanna, California Democrat, said on CNN in a conversation with host Anderson Cooper about the war — which is now at a two-week standstill — that America needs to give Iran an “ironclad guarantee” that the United States and, oh, yes, Israel, too, will never, ever, ever, no never attack the nation again.

That’s not just strategically stupid. It’s actually working on behalf of America’s enemies.

Khanna, speaking before President Trump announced a two-week ceasefire, called for an end to the war and explained how he would do it — how “we can do it with three things,” he said, Breitbart noted.

“We need an immediate ceasefire,” Khanna said. “Stop the bombing.”

And this: “We need to make sure that we give Iran an ironclad guarantee that Israel or we will not attack again, and involve China and Russia in that,” he said.

And then this: “And then we need to look at some of the sanctions and have a diplomatic solution.”

If Iran knows America isn’t going to attack — if Iran knows that America is going to pressure Israel to not attack — then wouldn’t Iran be emboldened to act in the same terroristic ways that it has for 47 years; in the very nuclear-developing ways that have brought about the U.S.-Israel attacks in the first place?

And his answer to that is to work with China and Russia, two more enemies of the United States.

“That’s the only way, in my view, that we get the Strait of Hormuz open,” Khanna said.

Except, of course, it’s not.

Trump, in the final few minutes before his administration was due to unleash a wave of bombings against Iran’s power plants and bridges — of such intensity that an entire civilization could be lost — drove Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with guarantees of safe passage to all countries.

On top of that, U.S. journalist Shelly Kittleson, who was taken hostage by Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah in Baghdad a week ago, was released.

Hmm.

Meanwhile, back at the Democrat camp — it was this: “More than 70 lawmakers, including a handful of senators, said in separate social media posts that Trump’s Cabinet needs to invoke the 25th Amendment to the Constitution and declare him unfit to serve, Congress should impeach and convict him, or both,” NBC News reported.

Why? The Democrats didn’t like Trump’s tough talk — tough threats — threats of bombing and obliteration and warnings about an end to civilization. You know, the threats and tough talk and warnings that actually worked — the ones that brought Iran to the table; that forced Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz; that forced an Iran-backed group to release an American journalist.

Democrats, instead, wanted to do what’s been done for 47 years with Iran, and the Iranian regime, and the terrorist Iranian regime: They wanted to talk. Talk, talk, talk, while turning blind eyes to the regime’s efforts to develop nuclear weapons and to the regime’s ongoing funding of terrorism against Israel, against America, against the West.

Democrats have shown themselves incapable of defending America against enemies.

“The House must pass articles of impeachment, and then the Senate must vote to convict and remove the president. Or, the cabinet and vice president, with congressional concurrence, must invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Trump,” said Sen. Ed Markey, in an X post that represented the thought of dozens of his fellow Democrats.

If Democrats would only fight America’s enemies with half as much courage and intensity as they fight against Trump and MAGA, today’s America would be safe and secure from Iran, from China, from Russia, from all those forces of the world with designs to destroy the West, constitutional ideals and the concept of individual liberty.
