On the U.S.-Israel assault against Iran, Democrat Rep. Hakeem Jeffries on ABC News slammed President Trump for involving America “in this reckless war of choice without any plan.” Democrat Rep. Adam Smith on NewsNation called America’s war on Iran “a mistake in large part because of the cost” and because of the inability of the military “to achieve a strategic outcome.” Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy on social media said Trump is planning “to commit mass war crimes next week” and “GOP leaders need to stop him” — a reference to Trump’s threat to bomb Iran’s bridges and power plants.

Blah, blah, blather, blah. Democrats, as well as all those of all political walks who condemn this White House’s military strikes against Iran, need to realize this war is one that America did not start. Iran’s regime has been engaged in terror strikes against America and U.S. allies for decades. Read the White House bullet points on Iran and Iranian proxy attacks against Americans. Read the list of Americans killed by Iranian and Iran-proxy attacks. The chant is “death to Israel, death to America, death to the West” — and Iran has been living out that chant for decades.

It’s only now, under this White House, under this president, under this commander in chief’s Cabinet secretaries, that America has at the helm the political and military will and might and muster to put an end to the fight.

The fact that Democrats and some of weaker stomachs can’t see this — or won’t acknowledge that — is reminiscent of America’s early days, when British soldiers and naval ships threatened the blossoming government and blooming independence of the colonists. Then, as now, weak knees wobbled and weaker hearts called for civil discourse.

Then, as now, those with misplaced hopes on a cooperative adversary, and those with a faulty belief of a willingness of an enemy to live in tranquility, spoke of the need to be diplomatic, to wait and see, to send strongly worded messages and strike compromises to the point of conceding all — then, as now, those with such views argued vehemently against military action.

And to that weakness, and as history recounts, Virginia lawyer and revolutionary leader Patrick Henry shouted: “Gentlemen may cry, peace, peace — but there is no peace. The war is actually begun!”

His point: The time for peaceful relations had long since passed because the war was already waging.

This is the state of America’s war against Iran.

There is no peace. The war, long before Trump ordered strikes on Feb. 28, had already begun.

Operation Epic Fury is the response mission to Iran’s decades-long assault against America.

Those without the stomach to do the hard work of winning a war ought to at least have the common decency to keep quiet and let those with courage fight the fight.
