Former Fleetwood Mac lead guitarist Lindsey Buckingham was attacked Wednesday by a woman who threw an unknown substance at him in Santa Monica, California, multiple news outlets report.
The 76-year-old, two-time Grammy winner was attacked when he arrived at a building for an appointment but was not injured.
Santa Monica police and the Los Angeles Police Department are working the case and say the woman is a stalking suspect known to Mr. Buckingham from past incidents.
No arrests had been reported as of early Wednesday, though law enforcement sources said an arrest is expected soon.
Mr. Buckingham is best known for hits like “Go Your Own Way” and “Don’t Stop,” and for his complicated personal and professional history with bandmate Stevie Nicks, which ultimately led to his dismissal from the soft-rock band in 2018.
